Objective:
To support domiciliary care services and the delivery of home care in accordance with legislated quality standards and company equal opportunities and health & safety policy.
Responsibilities:
To undertake induction, mandatory and further training as required to meet service user’s needs, comply with legislation and quality standards and to attend further training as required within service specifications and continuing development.
To attend to the personal needs of clients/service users as defined in agreed care/task specifications. Duties may include personal care, domestic tasks and social care tasks aimed at creating a supportive, enabling environment within the client/service user’s home.
To actively promote a positive and person centered approach to enable clients/service users to achieve their potential for independence and to report any changes to the Branch Manager.
To act appropriately in emergency situations, reporting incidents whilst respecting clients/service user’s sensitivity, privacy and confidentiality and respond to crisis situations effectively by summoning appropriate assistance e.g. GP/District Nurse/Emergency Services.
To be aware of service user’s physical and emotional well being and reporting any apparent changes or concerns to the Branch Manager.
To bring to the attention of the Branch Manager any apparent deterioration in the condition of client/service user’s accommodation which might affect their health & safety and/or that of care workers.
To work and cooperate with carers and other professionals involved in the delivery of person centered care/task specifications.
To apply good practice and report any/all suspicion of abuse of any kind in accordance with procedure and to understand and respect confidentiality and data protection policies within delivery of services.
Attend convened meetings as required e.g. team meetings, client reviews and supervision meetings and at least one face-to-face meeting quarterly with the Branch Manager. In addition, take part in the annual appraisal process.

Various ranging from 1hour up to 24 hours consisiting of mornings, lunchtimes and evenings. |
