The Homecare Service you control

Live-in care involves a fully trained care worker or nurse coming to live at a person’s home so that they can provide full time care and companionship for that individual. They are on hand to help with personal care, undertake household chores such as cooking, cleaning, laundry and shopping as well as providing the very important aspect of companionship.

Sleeping in their own room within the home, the Prestige carer or nurse works to an individual care plan that reflects the needs and wants of the person and which is flexible enough to adapt when these change. It will cover such areas as eating and sleeping times, medication, any personal care needs, as well as favoured activities. Typically Prestige will introduce a small number of staff to a client, each of whom will work a number of weeks at a time before taking a break. In this way we guarantee the continuity of care and can respond quickly to any unforeseen eventuality.

We offer two principle live-in services - respite and long-term care. Our respite service is short-term and is designed to replace the care that is normally provided by a family member or carer who wants to take a break or a holiday from the responsibility of providing care. Our long-term service provides care, support and companionship to individuals who are not able to live on their own but who do not want to go and live in a nursing or care home. It provides intensive care and support to individuals in their own homes who are bedridden or who suffer from serious health problems.

Live-in care helps to improve and maintain quality of life, as it allows individuals to stay in the comfort and security of their own home receiving care that is tailored to their individual needs. Just as importantly, when families come to visit they need not be concerned with the more mundane housekeeping chores that can eat into the time they want to spend with their loved one.

The cost is attractive too. Live-in care compares very favourably with the cost of moving to a residential nursing or care home, and won’t involve the disruption and uncertainty that can often accompany this transition
